PLEDGE 5: CARE
Pledge 1
All members of the Star family will be fed
We will provide food vouchers to Star family members who cannot afford to feed themselves
We will distribute food packs to Star family members who are vulnerable or self-isolating
Rising costs, income loss and the closure of many foodbanks as a result of the coronavirus outbreak are placing many families in hardship. Star Family Hubs will provide food vouchers to hungry neighbours as the crisis deepens.
Pledge 2
All members of the Star family will be able to maintain good personal hygiene
We will provide toiletry and home hygiene vouchers to Star families who are in financial difficulty
WE WILL PROVIDE PPE PACKS TO OUR LOCAL CARE HOMES, GP SURGERIES AND HOSPITALS TO KEEP OUR FAMILY PROTECTED
During difficult times, basic hygiene can become a backseat luxury for many families. Each Star Family Hub will provide toiletry and home hygiene vouchers to those in need. We will also donate existing school PPE supplies and leverage our network of donors and business partners to provide PPE outbreak packs to care homes, GP surgeries and hospitals.
Pledge 3
All Star families will be able to stay safe and warm in their homes
We will provide advice and support for those in fuel poverty
If you’re in need of fuel and energy debt advice, we can point you in the right direction. For those experiencing exceptional hardship, financial assistance may be available.
Pledge 4
All Star pupils who are learning at home will receive a good quality of education
We will provide access to technology and stationery to any Star pupils who do not have these resources in their homes
We will provide a telephone helpline to support parents requiring advice about home learning
Our national telephone helpline, StarLine, and YouTube series, StarLive, will support parents of children who are remaining at home during the period of school closure.
Pledge 5
All children of Star key workers, and vulnerable pupils, will continue to receive excellent care
We will keep our hub schools open and ensure that the pupils who attend are kept safe, fed and looked after by our staff
We will work collaboratively with local authorities and school partners to ensure all vulnerable pupils and those of critical workers, where required, can attend a local school.
